PTR Removals

We've now used PTR for two moves within the family.

First they moved my elderly mother (one bed flat) and I was so impressed with how kind, careful and helpful they were, that we used them again to move us into our new home months later. (4 bed plus garage)

They had everything we needed, including helpful advise on preparing for the move. They have a range of vehicles including a huge and impressive orange truck.

Very impressed with their service and care with our belongings. If I'd known how great they'd be, I wouldn't have bothered taken time off work, I could have just given them the keys and left them to it.

Prices were very good too. Slightly more expensive than your man with a van, but well worth it for the piece of mind you get dealing with a well established professional company.

Service cost: £750

We moved with PTR they failed to complete the packing up - we had to use the guys from the family moving into to help. It was so under resourced(3 guys total) they had to leave some of our stuff behind. which was collected the next day This despite coming round twice before.
We had damages to our goods and they dropped a bookshelf on our car. Really unprofessional expereince and despite them agreeing to wave the fee , we have experienced significant costs to right and so we wouod not recommend to anyone. We have some great phoots of the damage and thier Vans outside our house.

Service cost: £1800

PTR moved us from Cheshire to South Wales where our furniture was to go into storage. They sent too small a van which meant we had to hire a van ourselves to collect additional items later. The removal men unpacked some items which we had already packed carefully. They failed to send the promised inventory then when we requested it said it had been destroyed 'for data protection reasons'. When the furniture came out of storage many items were broken, scratched or missing and one wardrobe (which should have been dismantled to move) fell apart when it was being unloaded. It could not be put back together and so has gone to the tip. We requested a claim form so we could claim under the goods in transit insurance we paid for . Despite many requests and reminders this has not been forthcoming. They say they are 'not avoiding dealing with this issue' but the lack of action indicates that this is far from correct. We shall now have to take legal action against the company to get any redress. Their customer service is dire. Use them at your peril.

It started well with the packing and loading of all the heavy and bulky furniture, but quickly went downhill on the day of the move.
They sent two small vans for the final furniture and clothes, these guys just couldn’t wait to get away. They through clothes and jackets into plastic sheeting, I rang the office and told them I was not happy, they said they would look into it.(everything going into storage)
When furniture came out of storage wardrobes and bedroom tv damaged, a number of items missing. Clothes and jackets had to be dry cleaned.All missing items where on the small vans.
The final insult was one of there men left a large deposit in my en-suite bathroom and couldn’t even be bothered to flush the loo Disgusting!!
After several emails and phone calls I was offered a miserly £250 in compensation, I rejected this as it would come with conditions.
There is no customer care or goodwill with this company, the only way to go is the legal route.
Use them at your peril.

Extremely disappointed with the service from this company. Very rude staff. Only did 2hrs after being paid for a full day. Damaged goods.

TV is clearly damaged however after several emails over a 2 week period I’ve been told the insurance we were told to take out with them doesn't cover damage of TVs. I’ve sent pictures clearly demonstrating the damage to be told it’s a handprint mark so they won’t be taking my claim any further.

I will not be recommending.

I really felt I had to leave a review, as I had an amazing experience with PTR removals. I was really unsure about using them because of the bad reviews but they gave me the cheapest quote. I called the office spoke to Ami and told her how nervous I was and she reassured me.

The move went perfectly. The Wayne and the team were really friendly and good fun - there was a problem with the house we were moving into, they were really patient and brilliant with us while we sorted that out.

They were fast an efficient and much better than the movers that were moving the family out of the house we were buying.

I honestly can't say enough positive things about this experience I'm sure people have had their issues but I wanted to redress the balance.

After a nail biting week of ups & downs with the end vendor in the chain & a week later than we hoped, we confirmed with less than 12 hours notice our move date. This fantastic team pitched up to our old home in Oxford at about 08.30. By 10.30 they had packed up 2 vans full & were on their way back to Stoke with the promise that they would be at our new home by 09.00 the following morning to unload. They actually arrived a little earlier but less than 1 hour later they were complete. PTR's customer services was incredible the lovely lady was on the other end of the line doing everything she possible could. We are really happy with the service & will recommend them wholeheartedly.
